Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services
The purpose of this project was to capture photo and video for promotional elements on social media. I focused on capturing intimate moments of the training process. I wanted to ensure that it was clear that PAALS is a service dog training center and not a dog shelter.

My main goal with this project was to focus on the moments between the dogs and trainers while they were learning. A problem for nonprofits like PAALS is the thin line in marketing between their service dog training center compared to a dog shelter. When shooting photo and video of dogs, their purpose can get lost in the cute faces and wagging tails.
This was a process that took multiple shoots and spending lots of time with both the trainers and dogs. Forming relationships with employees and trainers gave the interviews a natural feel that captured real laughter and genuine conversation. Returning to shoot content on different days and times allowed me to capture varying aspects of life as a service dog for a well rounded project.
The photo and video elements were posted and shared across their social media platforms gaining likes shares and comments from viewers.
